My intention

I have become to ‘taste' the pleasure of the Arts first in the high school years in Lucca, then during the Academy years in Carrara.

What most fascinated me at that time was the tension in the gesture that I was trying to transfer in my sculptures, and secondly my respect I have for materials in their own nature. One of the themes of my first works was the female figure in its mystery, where the stylizing of the entire figure was linking the related concepts to their essential.

The materials I'm using are of different kind, though my favourites are marble and stone because of their hard plasticity that allows me to dig and work deeply inside in every direction thought respecting its ‘verso' and consistency.

I love driving my attention to the plasticity and the ‘chiaroscuro' effects of the stone, its symmetrical perfection, the rythm it takes on its full and empty dimension, the fascination of the opposites that give musicality and stability to my works.

Starting from these first intentions, what I'm actually searching is studying the many ways to free the frame of my thought from a ‘crystallized' material.
